Clicking websites, tapping likes on pixels, shouting ideologies inside virtual echo chambers, digits activating our brain’s pleasure zones. Mambo Panda is part of that, but in November we took a trip to Amsterdam to attend IDFA, one of the most important documentary film festivals in the world. There we met Thomas Gravemaker, typographer, world traveler and soul mate. (www.letterpressamsterdam.com) In his letterpress workshop Thomas moved types around, opened his drawers and took his biggest Plack wood type to make magic at a Korrex proof press (printing Mambo Panda posters, of course).
